With the 9 cell battery and during setup/installation (windows update and installation of programs) the battery meter said 5hours 15 minutes at 98% charge which is respectable for a 15" laptop with wifi on and dedicated gpu. It's a tad on the chunky side to what I'm used to (my Inspiron 13 is still going strong) and it's more suited to be a desktop replacement than something you'd have on your lap. Ended up about $1420 with discounts and laptop bag. last week for a workmate and it's a pretty nice laptop/workhorse for the money. I ordered a decked out Studio 15 (4gig ram, ATI card, 1920x1080 wled screen with camera, 9 cell battery etc).
